Hope for your future
“There is hope for your future," declares the Lord (Jeremiah 31:17)
Anxiety and depression are reportedly increasing in London and the UK. Dan recently preached about anxiety and depression in Elijah’s life. Elijah felt deeply depressed because all had apparently gone wrong in his personal and national life. He ran into the wilderness and asked God to take his life. God responded by telling him to sleep, drink water and eat simple, nourishing food.
Christians, especially leaders, are at risk of burn out as they strive to live the Christian life and lead others to do so.
We are still emerging from the effects of the pandemic and Brexit, whilst dealing with inflation and the impacts of the Ukrainian war on our increasing energy costs.
We are often bombarded with dire warnings about the future, eroding our hopefulness. Christians have hope now and for the future. They are God’s hope-filled, love gift to this often apparently hopeless world.
Teenagers are worried about their future on Earth according to a report by the C of E Children’s Society. They are 25% of now and 100% of our future.
