Trusting when it's hard 

He forgives all your iniquity; he heals all your diseases
He redeems your life from the pit; he crowns you with faithful love and compassion
He satisfies you with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle 
(Psalm 103:3-5)

I sit here looking at the blue sky, remembering the amazing sun rise of Friday morning - did you see it? These things point me to the creator God and help me to praise his name.

Then I remember that we are once again in lockdown and God’s promise to heal all our diseases seems far away. We cry out for the normality of social contact, to see loved ones without restrictions, for confidence in the future from a job and economic point of view.

These verses go on to talk of God's faithful love and compassion and we need to grasp these truths and keep them close to our hearts.  Knowing and believing that heaven is the certain hope and there we will indeed be renewed like the eagle.

Heavenly Father, 
Help us today to trust you, to know deep in our hearts your love, compassion and faithfulness.  When we are tempted to doubt you Lord, give us faith, when we are struggling, give us strength to turn to you, and when we have no words, help us to know that the Holy Spirit will cry out for us.  Help us to praise you today for the good things that for now you have chosen to bless us with.
