Begin the Greatest Adventure
The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening, but thought-provoking way. It's low key, friendly, fun and free! And it's supported by all the main Christian denominations. More than two million people worldwide have found it a worthwhile experience, and courses are currently running in 132 countries, in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons.
"What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning."
Our Vicar, Trevor Patterson, writes...
"What is Alpha to me? It's lots of things - an opportunity to ask important questions about the Christian faith; a chance to meet new people; being able to hear clear teaching on central Christian themes; enjoying an excellent meal and good conversation!; the opportunity to pray and be prayed for by others. All this in a ten week period which is made up of weekly sessions and an all-day Saturday. My experience is that very few come through the course not having benefited, and most believe they have grown to know God more and want to deepen their relationship with Him as a result.
"So", you might ask me, "Is Alpha for me?" Yes, most definitely, if you feel drawn by any of the above observations. Why not join us on the next course and bring a friend!"
The Alpha Course is a great way to explore Jesus and ask the questions that are on your mind.
We run an Alpha Course each autumn and sometimes at other times of the year. In the autumn, the introductory evening kicks off with a meal, a glass of wine and a chat, followed by a brief presentation about what will be covered on the course. Feel free to bring a friend, relative or work colleague with you.
If you'd like to register for a future course please spend a few seconds filling in the form below and we'll get back to you with more information.
Our first 2017 Course begins with a Supper on 26 January and has eight further sessions on Thursdays. We start with a meal each week, then there'll be a short talk followed by discussion in small groups.
